Glossary
Plain-language definitions for how LeadMatrix works — so buyers and providers share the same vocabulary.
- Leader Matrix
- LeadMatrix’s transparent ranking model. Positions are computed from reviews, market presence, and verification depth — never from payment status.
- Verified provider
- A company that has passed legitimacy, portfolio, and ongoing monitoring checks by the research process.
- Verified review
- A client review that completed identity verification and a client-relationship check. Anonymous reviews are rejected.
- Sponsored
- A paid visibility placement. Always labeled. Sponsored status does not change star ratings or Leader Matrix position.
- PRO
- A subscription that adds analytics, featured placement slots, and project tools — without altering organic rank.
- Claimed profile
- A company profile managed by an authorized vendor user after ownership is established.
- Bayesian shrinkage
- A ranking technique that pulls sparse ratings toward a category average so a handful of reviews cannot dominate the list.
- Recency decay
- Older reviews contribute less weight over time so rankings reflect current performance.
- Project / RFP
- A buyer request describing scope and budget so verified providers can respond with proposals.
- Shortlist
- A buyer’s curated set of providers under active consideration for a project.
- AEO
- Answer Engine Optimization — structuring public content so search and AI systems can accurately cite LeadMatrix research.
- Editorial firewall
- Process and technical controls that prevent sales or billing from changing ratings, reviews, or rankings.
